FreeBSD 4.5 + EPIA E533(eden)のVT6102が認識されない現象

はじめに

EPIA E533 + FreeBSD 4.5 の電源を入れると、たま〜にネットワークが認識されない現象が確認されます。 接続している Switching HUB(corega FSW-8L)のLEDも点灯しません。

現象

「FreeBSD ハンドブック：9.4. コンフィグレーション ファイル」を見ると、MII BUS を利用する汎用PHY(ukphy) の vr が認識されていないようです。

この時の ifconfig はこれ。vr が表示されません。

reboot した後でも同じ現象が発生しますが、 シャットダウン後の再起動時は、以下のように正常に認識されます。

Webを検索すると

FreeBSD Q and A No.1788 に似たような現象が報告されていました。 しかし、この報告は MAC アドレスが取得できない場合なので、私のところと違います。
